COURSE INFORMATION

Employment with most OTR (Over-the-Road) companies requires a minimum of 150 hours of course training. Our course is 160-hour classroom, job training, lab and independent study program designed to prepare the student to be a professional transportation specialist, providing complete training for the entry level driver with emphasis on large truck systems.

We also offer alternatives to our 160 hour program, allowing you to graduate in a shorter amount of time, following the same curriculum and receiving the same great training. These alternatives are performed on a One on One basis, with flexible scheduling around your work schedule.
Sessions can be scheduled afternoons, evenings and Saturdays and can be purchased on a By-the-Hour basis, (minimum applies) or as a block of time depending on our ability to learn and prepare for your DMV drive test.

The 160 hour course consists of the following segments:

24 Hours Classroom Training   includes California Vehicle Laws, Vehicle Management and Systems, Department of Transportation Regulations, Logs and Records, Map Reading and Vehicle Inspections.
60 Hours Job Training Program   teaches both basic and advanced operations.
46 Hours Lab Study Program  will touch on numerous areas to include Air Brakes, Electrical System, Engine, Steering, Coupling and Uncoupling, Backing, Driving, Safety, Preventative Maintenance and Hazardous Material to name a few.
30 Hours Independent Study  is designed to provide the student with a better understanding of what being a Class A driver is all about. With the information provided a student will know better what is desired as a professional Class A driver and help to make them a better candidate for future employment during the job interview process.

Job placement services are available to our current students and graduates. While we do not guarantee placement following graduation, a reasonable effort will be made to assist graduates in securing suitable employment. Our staff is here to provide instruction in the proper preparation of job applications, interviewing techniques and appropriate attire/manners for this industry.

Various monthly trucking publications are available to students at all times.

Recruiters from major trucking companies visit the facility on a monthly basis
seeking to hire our students, consequently, a large number of our students are pre
hired by these carriers and will go directly to work contingent upon graduation and
  receiving their Class 'A' License.
